Sweeps ended up in a local impound. His owner was found, but didn't reclaim him. He then came to us. The story we got was that his owner traveled w/a rodeo, but we have not verified that information. Sweeps has been very good in his crate. He keeps it clean and rides well in the vehicle. He appears to be house trained as well. Sweeps has been good w/other dogs in foster care, but can be a bit pushy w/intact males (or dominate males). Sweeps was intact when he came into foster care (he's neutered now), so there's maybe a bit of testosterone still in the air...haha. Sweeps hasn't been formally cat tested, but has ignored our barn cats in passing.
Sweeps is a lower medium energy guy. He can climb out of fences! Sooo, given that, Sweeps will either need a home w/Invisible Fence (brand specific) or diligent leash walkers. Sweeps will bond closely w/his people and is looking for someone who can give him a great life. He hasn't shown much interest in toys, but would probably enjoy going on walks and hikes. Sweeps seems to be fine w/everyone, so dog savvy kids ages 8+ should be fine. Sweeps is a pretty exceptional guy and he's looking for a family to match!
