Oakley is an interesting character. I feel his appearance, structure and athleticism are more malinois like but his temperament is much more German Shepherd like. He is one of the most comical dogs I've ever met. That being said he will absolutely alarm bark at ANYTHING. He does take a little bit to warm up to new people. Once he knows you, he's your BFF, but he is apprehensive at first. Once he knows you and is comfortable he turns into a total clown.
Oakley has been okay with other dogs in foster care, but often times his silly antics and energy levels aren't appreciated by the other dogs. He can not live with cats. Oakley is reliably house and crate trained. He does know a few basic commands, but will absolutely benefit from going to obedience classes with his new home (we can help you find classes).
Oak needs a confident owner who will make sure he has clear boundaries and rules. He is not a dog for a first time dog owner. He would be an excellent running/jogging partner and would likely even enjoy dog sports like agility. He likes toys but isn't over the top for them. He is not a working candidate. Oak needs a physically fenced yard (6' would be ideal). He really is the most ridiculously funny creature once you get to know him. Once he finds his people they will be a very lucky family.
