More Info: Minnow was a stray.

Training: Minnow has had no formal training.

Additional Info: Minnow is a busy guy. He has a fair amount of coat, but underneath it there really isn't much dog. Minnow came from a shelter in IA where he was a stray, so no history is known on him.

Minnow is a classic example of a border collie who needs a few jobs to do. He acts like he's been left to his own devices for most of his life. He can be a little mouthy when he gets excited, but does respect a correction. Minnow is VERY herdy. He gets along with the other dogs, but constantly herds them (and he'll nip 'em in the rear if they aren't moving around enough for his liking!). Minnow would NOT be good with cats. Minnow seems to have some toy drive, he prefers balls, and hasn't shown much interest in disc. Minnow is very distracted when we try to work with him (he's very montion sensitive, but does not seem to be a car chaser).

  • Minnow will benefit from obedience training. He needs to learn how to be patient and learn how to do things so he can have jobs to do. Minnow is going to be tested on sheep soon; herding might be his calling in life.

Minnow is looking for a home with border collie experience. He would probably be a good agility/obedience dog with some training. Ultimately Minnow just needs someone to spend some time with him and teach him some new stuff. Minnow does need a home with a fenced yard. He would probably be okay with kids, but older kids are recommended due to his mouthing, herding drive, and energy level.

This foster dog is fed with food provided by Chuck and Don’s Pet Food Warehouse.
