  • More Info: Mutt and Jeff came into a shelter together and were never claimed.
  • Training: They have had no formal training.
  • Additional Info: Jeff has been with us for 3 weeks now and we are coming to know him better.  Jeff loves to lay under your feet and get belly rubs and back scratches when you can spare the time.  He is starting to run and play in the back yard and is just beginning to be very silly with toys like Frisbees and balls.  He enjoys walks, riding in the car, being brushed and he is even good with nail trimming.   He is completely housebroken and has the run of the house day and night with no accidents or any mischief at all.  He is good with my 3 border collies and has now started playing with my husky mix, to whom he initially displayed some dominance.   Jeff is slower to warm up to men, but loves every woman he meets.  He is warming up to my husband however and will now take treats from him.

    Jeff has decided that he LOVES being a house dog and always runs to the house when called.  Actually he listens really well and totally respects our 4 foot fence.  Unless I am outside with him, he prefers waiting by the door until he can come back in and hang out with me.  He is very food motivated, learns quickly and wants to please.  He will bark when people first arrive at the house, but will quiet down with a verbal correction and a stream of tasty treats.   I see much improvement with the barking and would expect that improvement to continue.


    I believe Jeff would do better with older children and would enjoy a canine companion to play with now that he is learning to play.   Most of all Jeff would love a person or family of his own to help him build his trust level and give him the direction all border collies need. It will be one lucky person/family that adopts this beautiful, loving, and loyal boy.
