  • Additional Info: Tipper is a beautiful, intense, split face girl who found herself in a shelter. She is a busy, ball crazy gal who loves to play! Here is an upate from Tipper's foster home:
  • Just wanted to give you an update on Tipper!  She continues to do very well and is learning tons of new things.  She has a pretty solid "come"..... most of the time :) LOL.  She has enjoyed trying out some agility stuff.  She very willingly walked across a lowered dog walk and had fun getting lots of tricks on it!  I have been working her on barless jumps and she is learning so fast.  She is doing 180 and 270 turns.  She also is learning rear cross.  She was super with the rear cross and has caught on really fast.  I have let her run through the tunnel a few times and she has done a couple of curved tunnels too. She is also learning a couple tricks. she has learned "spin", "sit pretty", and how to target a hand. She is also learning how to target a round disc.  We are working on body awareness a lot.  I've been playing lots of body awareness games with her.  She is having lots of fun!

Some new things we have learned about Tipper in the last few weeks:
    1) She has a pretty high prey drive and will chase squirrels and rabbits.  When we take her out in the yard the first thing she will do is look for any squirrels and if she see one in or by one of our trees she goes tearing after it.

    2) She has started to bark at people that come to our door or are walking past our house.  This might have been something she picked up from Lizzie because Lizzie barks at people passing by.  She shows no aggression or anything and wags her tail the whole time so it isn't really a problem at all.

    3) She is obsessed with sprinklers... even more then she is with balls!  If our sprinklers are on she will go after the sprinklers instead of playing fetch... we avoid going outside when the sprinklers are going off... LOL.  Sometimes she will sit by the back door and look out at the sprinklers going off.

Tipper continues to impress me with what a good dog she is.  She is a quick learner and very willing to learn.  She's a fun dog to work with!

Tipper is a higher medium energy level dog. She is looking for a home w/a fenced yard. She loves toys, and likes to hoard them; she'd do best w/another dog who has less toy drive then her! Tipper likes attention and likes her people. She seems to do okay w/kids ages 8+. She would do best in a home w/a fenced yard. Tipper is not recommended for a home w/cats due to her higher prey drive. She would be a great agility dog! Tipper would be a great dog for an active person!

This foster dog is fed with food provided by Chuck and Don’s Pet Food Warehouse.
