Here is what Xander's previous home reported about him:
He does know sit, down, shake hands, beg (shake with both paws), jump/up (two fingers held above his head high), sit at the gate, and he was working on spins left and right but we hadn't been able to get that one on command just yet so we were still guiding with the treats. He had pretty good recall and was great at targeting games (come up and touch hand with nose) that we used to teach him his recall. He is great at 'drop it' and 'leave it' (or at least, he was for us). He was required to lay down if he was in the kitchen while we were cooking. He was working on loose leash walking. He was great with bones (the three dogs traded bones frequently and peacefully).
Xander is a busy guy (higher medium energy). He likes to go-go-go. He has been trained in being a running partner while in foster care and he LOVES it. He is well behaved and enjoys the work out. Xander will alert bark when someone comes to the door. He is good w/most other dogs...he does best w/female dogs and non-dominate males. Xander is not good w/cats, however. Xander loves people and is very friendly, due to his energy level, though, he'd probably do best w/kids ages 12+. Xander would love a fenced yard to play in. He'd be a great dog for an active home. He LOVES learning new things and is very operant. He is highly treat motivated. Xander is fully house and crate trained.
This foster dog is fed with food provided by Chuck and Don’s Pet Food Outlet.
